Nho Que river & Tu San alley
Explore the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia, located in Ha Giang, where boat operations have recently ceased.
The reason for the cessation of boat trips is that the Tu San Agricultural and Service Cooperative—the sole provider of boat tours on the Nho Que River—has not yet finalized a temporary plan for managing inland waterway transport for tourists. Additionally, due to the Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir, a passenger transportation contract with Nho Que 1 Joint Stock Company has not been signed or extended.
As a result, visitors are currently unable to take boat tours on the Nho Que River to view Tu San Canyon, one of the most breathtaking and romantic landscapes in the Northwest.
The Nho Que River originates in the Yunnan mountains of China and enters Vietnam at Seo Lung Village in Lung Cu Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang. Stretching approximately 46 kilometers, the river winds through the dramatic landscape of the Dong Van Rock Plateau. Its course is characterized by a powerful current that navigates through rugged, jagged rocks, creating a series of thrilling white-water rapids. This dynamic flow carves through the mountainous terrain, adding to the river’s striking beauty and enhancing its role as a vital natural feature in the region.
